Elyse Blackshaw is a London fashion illustrator, live event artist, and workshop host, working with a diverse range of clients across fashion, marketing, retail, hospitality, and education. Her vibrant, energetic artworks are known for transforming live events and brand experiences through expressive illustration.
Elyse studied BA (Hons) Embroidery at Manchester School of Art, graduating in 2013, where she developed a strong instinctive connection to drawing, collage, and fashion image‑making. She later completed an MA in Textiles (Mixed Media) at the Royal College of Art in 2021, further refining her illustration‑led practice.
Her signature style, defined by fluid black line, bold colour, and a playful mixed‑media approach, has led to a wide range of collaborations. Elyse is a regular presence at London Fashion Week, where she has worked as a live event artist illustrating for designers including Stephen Jones Millinery, Ashish, Phoebe English, Lueder, and Denzil Patrick.
Alongside her commercial practice, Elyse is deeply engaged in education and industry development. A fully qualified teacher since 2015, she works across primary, secondary, further and higher education. She has been a Graduate Fashion Week workshop host since 2020 and a panel judge for the Fashion Illustration Award since 2023. Elyse is currently a Visiting Lecturer at Manchester School of Art and Manchester Fashion Institute, and an Associate Lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts.
Beyond fashion education, Elyse has contributed to public and community arts initiatives including Wandsworth Arts Fringe Festival (2024), London Borough of Culture (2025), and The British Library’s Fairy Tales exhibition (2026).
Based in London, she works with UK and international clients across live illustration, brand commissions, and workshops. Contact Elyse directly at info@elyseblackshaw.com
