Elyse Blackshaw is an artist & fashion illustrator based in London. She studied BA hons Embroidery at the Manchester School of Art in 2013 where she developed a fascination with fashion drawing and image making. 

 

Elyse later studied MA Textiles in Mixed Media at the Royal College of Art in 2019.  With a focus on visual communication, her fashion illustration work evolved into transforming spaces and events with playful illustrations.

 

Elyse's work embodies black fluid lines and demonstrates an instinctive use of mark making to capture the world around her. She uses a range of mixed-media to layer and build textures in her drawings. Her work aims to visualise the feeling of excitement and imagination through colour and line work. 

 

Elyse has been a Graduate Fashion Week Judge for the Fashion Illustration Award since 2023. She has been Visiting Lecturer at the Manchester School of Art and  Manchester Fashion Institute,  and a Lecturer at the University for the Creative Arts.
