WHAT DRIVES MY PRACTICE

Fashion Illustration is ultimately observing, drawing and documenting something to be seen by others. It embodies a physical, human response, imagination and fearlessness.  At the heart of my work is a belief that fashion drawing is empowering. It provides a glimpse into other ways of seeing, it focuses our minds on the present, and encourages people to embrace individuality.

Whether I'm sketching live at a fashion show, creating artwork for a brand campaign or facilitating a workshop, I am interested in how illustration encourages different types of observation, conversation and participation. Fashion illustration is often seen as a way of communicating clothing, but I also see it as a way of communicating ideas, experiences and our relationship to the world.

Much of my work explores how drawing builds confidence and makes creativity feel accessible. Through movement, experimentation and play, I encourage people to engage with fashion illustration as a process rather than simply a finished outcome.

EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY

Alongside fashion illustration, I am currently a tutor at the Royal College of Art. I have also supported Graduate Fashion Week since 2020 as both a workshop facilitator and judge for the Fashion Illustration Award. I have delivered workshops for universities, schools and cultural organisations across the UK, creating opportunities for people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities to engage with fashion illustration. Recent projects have included collaborations with The British Library, Wandsworth Borough Council, Banbury BID and Hospital Rooms.

I struggled to find a fashion community I could belong to - so I started hosting workshops to build my own.

​

I am particularly interested in creating spaces where creativity, confidence and community can grow together, and am currently focused on developing a stronger fashion illustration community in Manchester alongside my work in London.​
