For years, ASHISH has been a constant source of inspiration for my fashion illustrations. His signature aesthetic—a dazzling mix of sequins, bold colours, and cultural commentary—has given me endless material to interpret through my artwork. Looking back at my past illustrations of his collections, I see a personal evolution in both my technique and artistic expression.
From my early sketches to more refined digital and mixed-media pieces, each drawing has captured a different era of ASHISH’s work. His ability to blend glamour with statements on identity and inclusivity has always resonated with me, pushing me to experiment with how I portray texture, movement, and attitude in my illustrations.
One of my favourite pieces was inspired by his 2017 collection, where sequins took centre stage in a riot of colours and patterns. It was one of the first times I attempted to depict sequins in a way that felt alive, shimmering with energy rather than appearing flat on the page. Over time, I refined my approach—learning how to layer colours, introduce dynamic poses, and enhance details that bring ASHISH’s spirit to life on paper.
More recently, I illustrated pieces from his latest London Fashion Week show, embracing a more fluid and expressive technique. I focused on capturing the unapologetic confidence of his designs, the way they celebrate individuality and joy. These illustrations are not just fashion sketches; they are a tribute to a designer who continuously challenges conventions and redefines glamour on his own terms.
As I continue to create new work, I look forward to seeing how ASHISH’s future collections will shape my artistic journey. His fearless approach to fashion encourages me to be just as fearless in my illustrations. Looking back, I see not just the evolution of a designer’s vision but also my own growth as an illustrator.
